My Big Wish List (for myself and humanity): # 4 The Liberation of ALL Animals

Surely my parents took me to the National Zoo, in Washington DC, as a child, but I don’t really recall it.  And maybe it is because I lived in Africa for a long time (actually, I had to drive THROUGH Umfolozi-Hluhluwhe Game Park, in South Africa, every time I needed toilet paper!), but way back in the mid-90’s, I took my young cousins to the Abilene Zoo (Texas.)  This experience, much to MY surprise, traumatized me.  I tried to hide my feelings from my young cousins because I did not want to upset them.  

Well, I failed on that account, because while I was writing a FURIOUS “KELLY LETTER” to the Abilene Zoo about the appalling living conditions (hyenas pacing, depressed lions, don’t get me started….), my 10 year old cousin, Anthony, handed me a drawing:  It was a polar bear melting in the sun, CRYING behind bars.  I never went to a Zoo again-- nor circuses, nor any animal “entertainment” facilities (you know, like SEAWORLD), because I did NOT want to FEEL what the animals were FEELING ever again!

I sent both my 4 typed-pages RANT and my cousin’s polar bear drawing to Abilene Zoo.  They, in response, acknowledged my “concerns” and offered me a job as a FUNDRAISER to help them improve the zoo’s facilities! I said, “No thank you!  I want to eradicate Zoos!”  I know people try to argue that zoos are “educational”, animal medicine research, blah, blah, blah…I am not BUYING those stories any more.  And neither is Costa Rica, I might add—they just banned Zoos!  India just banned “Swim with Dolphins” businesses!  BRAVO!  You want to swim with dolphins?  Go to the Big Island of Hawaii and get in a kayak at sunset, I guarantee you will run into a FLEET of happy FREE dolphins!  Get on a sailboat in Biscayne Bay (Miami), or learn SCUBA off the islands of Bocas del Toro, Panama; snorkel in the Caribbean, whatever!

Really, I could go on and on…zoos and animal “edu-tainment” BUSINESSES are relatively NEW on this planet, existing only the past hundred or so years.  OK, let’s also look at this from a very PRACTICAL (as in Not “Hippie”) MANNER:

  Has it occurred to people that MOST of OUR ENVIROMENTAL “CHALLENGES”/IMBALANCES are because WE have REMOVED, ISOLATED or IMPRISONED critical components of our ecological systems?!!! 

But don’t listen to me, DO YOUR OWN SCIENCE HOMEWORK starting with ecology, biology, zoology, chemistry, aerology, agrobiology, agronomics, apiology, BOTANY to start!

My Big Wish List (for myself and humanity): # 3 Our Judicial Systems are Rigged, Folks!

Dear USA,

I am going to pick on YOU today (but know, that you are not the only country with a RIGGED judicial system!)  I mean has anyone been following the US “news” lately...or say, hmmm... EVER?!  Crazy trials going on…kids being killed for buying Skittles and then people shooting guns going free?!  SNOWDEN?!!!!!  Who from Wall Street is in jail right now?  Name me one!  Really?  Do I have to LIST ALL the EVIDENCE THAT OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM is RIGGED and a new one needs to be CREATED, like NOW?!

As a matter of fact, the ONLY judicial system I CAN SEE from here that actually practices REAL JUSTICE comes from the Haitians…some of you may know it as Voodoo (originally from West Africa—like everything else!—it is known as “Vodou”.)

Allow me to EXPLAIN.  In Voodoo culture, IF you ACCUSE a person of a crime and YOU CANNOT PROVE IT, then the ACCUSER suffers the punishment.  This means someone has to have a pretty fuckin’ good "case" against you, or else the prosecutor will pay.  In Voodoo, they do not have a DEATH PENALTY, instead, they ZOMBIFY you!  Harsh?  Well, remember, IF your ACCUSATIONS are FALSE, then YOU will be zombified!  What this means is that people THINK TWICE about ACCUSING anyONE of anything—if you are wrong, YOU will feel the punishment.

You might be a Lightworker IF….

I see that some people have already embraced their BIG roles as Lightworkers (call it whatever you like, there are many names—yahoo!  In ONENESS, everything is welcome!) but a few of you are not quite sure what is going on.  And you don’t have to BELIEVE me NOW (those would be your old stories surfacing), but if you are HERE, you are one!  And there are many, many others, all around the globe—some totally off-the-grid and most of them do not speak English!  So this is just one network linked to many.  Eventually, everything will be CLEAR.  But if you are asking yourself, what the HELL is this woman talking about…well, to “steal” from Jeff Foxworthy…

You might be a Lightworker IF….

1.     You have “suffered” what I refer to as “Save-the-World Syndrome”—a ridiculous passion/INTENSITY (which often shows up as ANGER at something…injustice, racism, treatment of animals, various dis-eases, homelessness, corporate greed,  etc.) to FIX/improve LIVING (and everything is LIVING, no?) conditions on this planet.  This “passion” has probably been with you since childhood, but some are just feeling it now.

2.     You have felt like you are HERE for a much BIGGER PURPOSE than serving coffee at a coffee shop or whatever “job” you may currently have.  *The truth is you are in the PERFECT place for YOU to do your lightwork EXACTLY where you are RIGHT NOW—in a lot of ways, those of you working in hospitality/customer service have access and influence on A LOT of people!  KNOW that each person you interact with, just being your-LOVING-self, changes them—whether they realize it or not!  So thank you!

3.     You HAVE NOTICED crazy shit is going on throughout the planet…from riots in Ancient Places (Egypt, Syria, Turkey immediately come to mind) to the POPE RESIGNING (for the first time in 6 CENTURIES!!!) and then the NEW POPE from SOUTH AMERICA stating: “homosexuality is OK” to local uprisings in your own families, circle of friends, colleagues, etc.  People are leaving jobs they hate; letting go of partners they have been with for decades; leaving the country to travel; changing their sexes; giving away all their material shit; and then some!  *Way too many to list here—but ALL GOOD—kind of like a tornado hitting a small town-- it LOOKS and FEELS very scary but at the same time, it is beautiful, right?  I mean, when you SEE a TORNADO, all of a sudden you remember SOMETHING ELSE is in charge and everything else is so small and unimportant.  And then, when the TORANDO leaves as quickly and unexpectedly as when it arrived, everyONE is left with NOTHING and STARTS to re-build a NEW BETTER TOWN (EARTH) TOGETHER.  Circle of Life—totally Lion King stuff!  *Walt Disney, an Ascended Master!

4.     You might be having all kinds of OLD (actually it is ANCIENT) SHIT showing up everywhere….old lovers, old fears, old insecurities, etc.  Good!  GET THEM OUT—whatever RELEASING method works best for you.   Ultimately, you will KNOW you have reached true INNER PEACE when nothing anyONE can say or do to you affects you in a negative way (biggest example, you know, JESUS on a fuckin’ CROSS!)  THAT is INNER PEACE.   You will be able to see everyONE with the EYES of LOVE (Horus!) NOTE:  We are ALL still working these things out for ourselves-- so don’t be too hard on yourself for tantrums and moments of being an ASS. 

5.     Things/people that used to bother you, no longer will!  Amen!  It is a side effect of FORGIVENESS--which is the key to COMPASSION which is the key to LOVE.

6.     You have probably been feeling all kinds of weird aches, pains, illnesses, insomnia…this is known as “Ascension Flu”…look it up, do your OWN INNER HOMEWORK!

My Big Wish List (for myself and humanity): # 2 The Fall of BIG Media

Noam Chomsky once said, “Violence is to dictatorship as propaganda is to democracy.”  Everyone already knows that “he” who controls the information, in fact, controls the world.  In the US, our most powerful, lucrative, and not-so-subliminal propaganda machine is Big Media.

Lest I need to remind you, one of our nation’s founding principles is free speech, which can only come from a free press.  However, in the past few decades, free press has been devoured by political parties and even bigger businesses, all with transparent motives.  The Federal Communications Commission (“You down with FCC?  Yeah, you know me”….then you also know I, the FCC, am a GOVERNMENT AGENCY—pssst, I am on “their” team!) was specifically created to ensure free speech and free press…wha, wha, wha…..

And if you are not sure who exactly is “big media”, just turn on your television.  In other words, if you think you are getting “free press” in the US, then you are clueless (and that is exactly what Big Media is counting on!)  Follow the money.  Don’t listen to me, do your OWN homework!

Here are some practical tactics to safe-guard free speech and free press in the US and beyond until ALL people are operating at higher levels of consciousness (and then there will be FULL transparency!):

1. Open internet. An open Internet has become indispensable for free speech; economic innovation; education and more— virtually every aspect of our democracy, not to mention our social systems.

2. Universal Access to Fast, Open and Affordable Broadband. One activist group, Free Press, is demanding that the FCC produce a national broadband plan that encourages competition (as opposed to the current monopolies) and rescues the millions of people (you know …“the marginalized”, “the poor people”, “the Untouchables”, etc.) still stranded on the wrong side of the digital divide. 

3. Get More Local Radio Stations on the Air.  For example, let’s return to local community-based radio-- in the form of new Low Power FM stations.

4. Educate people about the individuals and organizations behind today’s media.

These are just a few suggestions of the top of my former-Reuter’s Reporter head.  I am counting on my fellow journalists, editors, “citizen journalists”, bloggers, readers, people in the television/film/IT/radio industries (people CURRENTLY in the Media) to take this on, please!   True INFORMATION is the key to true COMMUNICATION, which is the key to true UNDERSTANDING, which is the key to true PEACE.
